Using an advanced website builder, I designed and created a professional looking website for my own business without using any computer code. Not long ago, building and operating a website was best left to the experts, but lower prices and advanced technology have made website creation available to everyone. The availability of free blogging sites and cheap website creators have de-mystified the whole process and so today, most people and all organizations want their own website. Unfortunately, a large number of those websites are ugly and some look as though they have been thrown together. What many people still believe is that if you want a really professional looking site its best left to the experts and that can cost a lot of money.
All web pages you see on the screen are the result of complex looking computer code written using Extensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). This is interpreted by our internet browsers to display what we actually see. However, word processor style software makes it possible to create websites without encountering all this code. These website builders are designed for both the beginner and advanced user, it enables you to have a website template within minutes. Instead of typing CSS and XHTML code you add text and drag and drop graphics to a blank page as if you were using a word processor. It produces all the code so you don’t have to worry about it.
In the past, these word processor type editors, better known as What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) have had a very mixed reception. Many use over complicated code that is prone to failure and take up large amounts of bandwidth. Worst of all, they are too inflexible to allow you to design the page exactly as you wanted it. Sadly, this is still the case with most WYSIWYG editors. It is the ease of use, reliability and the quality of the end product that makes the new advanced website builders stand out from their predecessors.
Facebook is an amazingly powerful social networking platform, such as allowing you to connect with your friends, family, and other like-minded people, marketers and businesses can also use of this social networking platform to effectively create an online presence and market their products and services (through the use of Facebook pages, groups, and advertising).
Not only that, do you know that you can also use Facebook to drive massive amounts of targeted traffic to your website?
There are many different ways in which you can use Facebook to drive traffic to your website and, in this article, I am going to share with you 4 of the most effective ways that will allow you to do just that.
1. Create A Facebook Page
You can create a Facebook Page for your website – With the name of your page being the same as your websites’ name.
After you have created your Facebook page for your website, you will want to get people to join (especially those who are interested in the subject your website is in) by giving them some sort of incentives for joining (such as giving away a free short report in return for joining your page).
How you can update your Facebook page is that, whenever you update your website with some fresh content, you will want to post it on your page (with a brief summary on what the post is about, along with a link to read the entire content in full).
If the content you have written is enticing enough, and one that people want to read about, you can be sure that your Facebook page members will click on the links you have provided to read the content in full.
2. Create A Facebook Group
You may also want to connect with like-minded people (who is interested in the niche in which your website is about) by creating Facebook groups. Similar to creating a Facebook page, you will want to name your Facebook group the same as your website’ name.
After you have created your Facebook group, you can use similar techniques (as described in the previous section on how you can entice people to join your Facebook page) to entice people to join your group (by offering an incentive in return for joining).
You will want to keep your group active by getting members in the group to participate – Whether is it encouraging fellow members to share information, or to ask any questions they have, or even answering some of the questions posted by fellow group members.
The more active your group is, the more responsive they will be (to visit your website) whenever you post a new content there (and you inform your group members).
3. Facebook Advertising
You can also create an ad campaign that is targeted to the demographics of your niche market (prior to creating the ad campaign, you will want to conduct a research to find out the demographics of your targeted audience in the niche you are in).
If used correctly, you can get massive amounts of traffic to your website paying only pennies per visitor (that you get to visit your website by clicking on your ad).
4. Facebook Profile Page
You can place a link to your website in your personal Facebook profile page. This will also help you drive traffic to your website from people whom you are connected with, or finds you in the search feature (provided that you make the link of your website visible to everyone – not only to those that is connected with you one way or the other).
